The APO greets the launching of the Federation of the African Journalists

The Secretary-General of the African Press Organization (APO), Mr. Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD, discussed Thursday by telephone with the Secretary-General the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), Mr. Aidan WHITE.

“I make a point of expressing my very cordial congratulations to the International Federation of the Journalists, like with the Union of the Journalists of West Africa, with the Association of the Journalists of the Southern Africa, with the Association of the Journalists of the East Africa, with the Federation of European and International Public Service Unions, with the Associations of the Journalists of Central Africa, and with the Network of the Journalists of North Africa, at the time of the launching of the “Federation of the African Journalists“, last on November 14, in Abuja (Nigeria). “, Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD declared.

“The combat for the promotion and the protection of the interests of the African journalists requires an engagement of the whole of the organizations of journalists of the continent. The Federation of the African Journalists is determined, we know it, to take all its share of this effort. (…) I thus address, on behalf of the African Press Organization, like on my personal behalf, all my wishes of success to the Federation of the African Journalists, and I ensure it of the full support of the APO in his missions. “, affirmed the Secretary-General of the African Press Organization, Mr. Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD.

Mr. POMPIGNE-MOGNARD and Mr. WHITE in particular evoked the means available to the African Press Organization in order to contribute to the development of the Federation of the African Journalists.

The FIJ represents more than 600,000 journalists in 114 countries in the world.

L’APO salue le lancement de la Fédération des Journalistes Africains

 

Le Secrétaire-Général de l’Organisation de la Presse Africaine (APO), M. Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD, s’est entretenu jeudi par téléphone avec le Secrétaire-Général de la Fédération Internationale des Journalistes (FIJ), M. Aidan WHITE.

 

« Je tiens à exprimer mes très chaleureuses félicitations à la Fédération Internationale des Journalistes, ainsi qu’à l’Union des Journalistes de l’Afrique de l’Ouest, à l’Association des Journalistes de l’Afrique Australe, à l’Association des Journalistes de l’Afrique de l’Est, à l’Union des Syndicats et Associations des Journalistes d’Afrique Centrale, et au Réseau des Journalistes d’Afrique du Nord, à
l’occasion du lancement de la « Fédération des Journalistes Africains », le 14 novembre dernier à Abuja (Nigeria). », a déclaré Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD.

 

« Le combat pour la promotion et la préservation des intérêts des journalistes Africains requiert un engagement de l’ensemble des organisations de journalistes du continent.
La Fédération des Journalistes Africains  est déterminée, nous le savons, à prendre toute sa part de cet effort. (…) J’adresse donc, au nom de l’Organisation de la Presse Africaine, ainsi qu’en mon nom personnel, tous mes vœux de succès à la Fédération des Journalistes Africains et je l’assure du plein soutien de l’APO dans ses missions. », a affirmé le Secrétaire-Général de l’Organisation de la Presse Africaine (APO), M. Nicolas POMPIGNE-MOGNARD.

 

M. POMPIGNE-MOGNARD et M. WHITE ont notamment évoqué les moyens dont dispose l’Organisation de la Presse Africaine afin de contribuer au développement de la Fédération des Journalistes Africains.
